Once you have signed up to Mobiz and added your contacts, you will be able to create your first campaign. At this stage of our product, we only offer one campaign type – the Engagement campaign. If you’re curious to learn more about our campaign types, we’ve outlined them for you.
Below, we’ll take you through the easy steps to set up your campaign.
Step 1: Create a new campaign
Click the New campaign button on the campaign dashboard to start creating your campaign.
Step 2: Choose between landing page vs SMS/MMS
Landing page campaigns offer a richer, more interactive experience by allowing you to showcase more content and capture customer data, while SMS/MMS campaigns are direct and immediate, ideal for quick updates or offers. Both can be powerful, depending on the depth of engagement needed.

Step 3: Design your campaign
First select your template from our list of engaging, pre-designed templates.
Once you have made your selection the campaign editor will open. Here you are able to edit your content, try changing your background by uploading an image, edit the colors, include your logo, edit text and add external URL links.
All design elements can be edited to suit your brand.
You can also edit and reposition elements using the menu to the left of your campaign.
Easily add more elements by clicking Add element and selecting images, text and buttons. Please note that you can only have one button per campaign – this is helpful to keep your campaign goal clear and simple.
Adding personalization tags
Tailor your campaign and add personalization by clicking the curly brackets shown in the right-side menu. Here you’ll be able to choose from a defined list of personalization tags.
You’ll also be able to create a default value for instances that a contact does not have the specific data required. For example #{{First name}} with a default value of #{{customer}}.
Using conditional personalization
Much of the power of Mobiz lies in content conditioning. You can condition your elements to hide or reveal themselves to different segments of your database. This allows you to dynamically create unique campaigns based off your audience data.
To apply this, select an element and click the eye symbol on the left, then select the database conditions you wish to apply to the chosen content.
Use And or Or to further define your conditions. And allows you apply multiple sets of criteria to your element. This is more strict conditioning and means that an element will only show if a contact meets ALL the specified criteria.
Or allows you to define different criteria within one condition. This is a broader condition set and means that if a contact satisfies ANY of the specified criteria, the element will show for them.
Step 4: Compose the SMS
Once you are happy with your design, the next step is to compose the SMS. This is the text message that your customer will receive and must contain your unique campaign URL.
Your SMS copy has a character limit 160, so there’s plenty of room to get creative. If you need a few extra characters, don’t worry, our platform allows up to 306 - however please be aware you will be charged an extra SMS credit for exceeding 160.
Top tip: Improve SMS engagement by adding personalization to your SMS. Add these by clicking the curly brackets when crafting your text message.
Step 5: Choose your audience
Once you have created your audience lists you can use these audiences by selecting them in the Audience step of your campaign creation.
You have the ability to choose who you want to send to and also exclude specific contacts from receiving the campaign. Simply search and select the lists you want to send to in the Send to input and use the Do not send to field to input any exclusion lists.
Did you know? We’ve built in a helpful feature to prevent double sends. Meaning, if a contact exists in more than one list that is selected, the contact will only receive the campaign once.

Step 6: Review your campaign
The final step is to review your SMS and landing page campaign. From here you can send yourself or your team test campaigns to ensure you’re happy before sending to your audience.
That's it! Congrats you have now sent your first Mobiz campaign! 🥳
