Understanding Personalization

Personalization is a key feature in Mobiz and a powerful way to enhance your campaigns. It allows you to insert customer-specific information, creating a tailored experience that strengthens your customer relationships.

In this article:

Adding Default values

Default values serve as fallbacks when a contact doesn’t have data in a personalization field.

For example, if you use {{First name}} and a contact hasn’t provided their name, you can set a default like “guest” or “valued customer.”

  • A contact with a name will see: Hi Sarah

  • A contact without one will see: Hi guest or Hi valued customer

If no default value is set, that part of the message will appear blank for those without data.

Top tip: Default values can also be used in Conditional personalization - click here to learn how.

Where to use personalization in Mobiz

You can add personalization at two key points in the campaign process:

  1. Design stage

  2. Message stage

Design stage

Personalization can be added to Text and Button elements.

  1. Select a Text or Button from the Elements panel on the right, or click it directly in the campaign preview.

  2. Click "Personalize" in the editing area.

  3. Choose your personalization tag(s), enter a default value if needed, and continue editing or add more tags.

Message stage

Personalizing your message copy is highly effective - it’s your first point of contact and can significantly boost clicks to your campaign URL.

  1. In the Compose SMS area, click "Personalize".

  2. Choose your personalization tag(s), enter a default value if needed, and continue editing or add more tags.
