Automatic De-duplication for Multi-list Campaigns

When sending a campaign to multiple contact lists at once, our system automatically detects and removes duplicate phone numbers. This ensures that each recipient receives the message only once, regardless of how many lists they are part of.

All Contacts View

In the "All Contacts" view, our platform does not allow duplicate phone numbers. Each phone number is stored as a unique contact in the system to maintain data integrity.

How a Duplicate Could be Sent Due to Segmentation of Lists

While duplicates are not permitted in the "All Contacts" view, the same phone number may exist in multiple lists due to segmentation. This allows for targeted messaging without affecting the platform's global contact management. However, if a contact is imported into multiple lists and a campaign is sent separately to each list, duplicates are not automatically removed across those independent sends. In this case, the same recipient may receive multiple messages because each campaign is treated as a standalone send.

Tips for Avoiding Duplicate Messages

  • If sending the same message purpose/campaign select all list(s) that it applies to vs sending individual.

  • Leverage exclusions to exclude any list of numbers that you don't want the campaign to be sent to on the audience selection page of campaign creation steps.
