Steps to import an opt-out list
Navigate to the Contacts page
Log in to your Mobiz account and go to the Contacts page.
Select the import option
Click on Add Contacts and choose Import Opt-Out List from the dropdown menu.
Prepare your file for import
Ensure that your file contains headers in the first row. For example, headers might include "Mobile Number", "Email address", "First name" or "Last name".
Map your data
During the import process, you’ll be prompted to map the columns in your file to Mobiz columns. For instance, match your "Mobile Number" column to the Mobile number column in Mobiz.
Complete the import
Review your mappings and click Import to complete the process.
What happens after the import
The imported contacts will be added to the Unsubscribed tab in Mobiz.
These contacts will no longer receive messages sent from the platform.
If any of the imported contacts were previously subscribed, they will be automatically moved to the unsubscribed tab.
How to resubscribe contacts
Contacts can only resubscribe themselves.
For a contact to be resubscribed, they must message "START" or any one of your text-to-join keywords created on your account. Once they do, they will be automatically moved back to the subscribed tab within contacts.
Why importing an opt-out list is important
Respect customer preferences
Ensuring that opt-out requests are honored helps build trust with your audience.
Compliance with regulations
Many regions require businesses to maintain updated opt-out lists to avoid messaging individuals who have opted out.
Improve campaign performance
By focusing your messages on engaged contacts, you increase the likelihood of positive engagement while avoiding wasted resources.
Importing an opt-out list is a simple but essential step in maintaining effective and compliant communication practices on Mobiz.
